Clown Fish Wines

Margaret River, Western Australia

This entirely biodynamic and organic vineyard has been around since 1996, however the low yields that have been consistently produced mean that many of our regular customers may not recognize the label. Nonetheless, this has been quite a find, with all four of their wines being exceptional examples of great Margaret River wines.

These include a lovely summer-style Sauvignon Blanc Semillon with the Semillon pulling back that huge punch that is common in NZ examples and has turned many people off, a very elegant cooler climate style Shiraz, a great everyday soft drinking style Merlot Cabernet, and, of course, our personal favourite, the very highly James Halliday rated Chardonnay, which has great fruit flavours that shine above the oak.

The best thing is that although they are wines that incorporate biodynamic practices, have very low yields, and are from across the country, the prices are still very affordable for the everyday wine drinker. This has undoublty become one of our finds of 2010/2011.
